I've had various photos of this impressive Reptile species for ages now but hadn't gotten round to uploading any. So here is one!
This species is distinguished from the Water Monitor (Varanus salvator - several photos of which are already up) by the position of the nostrils halfway between the eyes and the tip of the snout. In V.salvator the nostrils are at the end of the snout.
